Easily export completed bookings from Blink to Xero using CSV files, and seamlessly import them into Xero for efficient invoicing and accounting integration, ensuring streamlined financial management and accurate invoicing.
You're ready to do your invoicing - see below for exporting into Xero.
Blink Export
After you've completed bookings, head back to your Bookings list and select "CSV Export" in the secondary header.
- This brings up the Blink Export modal. Here you can choose from a variety of options including date, Export Type (Xero) and whether you'd like to group your CSV by Purchase Order or by BookingID, as entered on the booking.
- You can choose prefilled date ranges, or create a custom range to export your completed orders. Prefilled filters will be Completed status, excluding bookings that have been marked as "Exported"
- At the top, you have the ability to automatically tag any exported bookings, to minimise double handling or uploading to your accounting software.
- Select Export to CSV to download your file.
Xero Import
After you've downloaded your CSV, you'll be able to import them into Xero. To do so:
- Log in to your Xero account and select the Business tab, navigate to the Invoices drop-down selection.
- Once in the Invoices area, you will see the option to Import.
Select Import, this will bring up the Xero Import modal. Here you can choose the system you are importing from - Select Xero for Blink to Xero reports. Xero will also ask if you would like to update contact address details, and if Tax is inclusive or exclusive on the report (Tax can be also changed on the next screen, prior to sending your invoice).
- Select Browse to select your previously downloaded CSV file from Blink.
Here you can select any previously downloaded CSV reports. Select the relevant file you'd like to upload.
- Once uploaded, Xero gives you the ability to Edit the invoice.
Here you can all imported information from the CSV import, as well as change the Tax (if needed)
- Before sending the invoice, Xero also gives you the option to Preview the Invoice.
This will reflect a draft copy of what you are about to send.
- If everything looks good, Xero gives you the option to Email or Print the invoice (other options also included are Duplicate, Delete or Copy to).
- Selecting Email for your method of Invoice sending will bring up the Send Invoice modal, where you can add all pertinent information.
- Alternatively, the Print option will download a PDF version of the Invoice for you.
