You've assigned a run to your driver. Fantastic. See below for everything you need to know about collecting and delivering vehicles using Blink Driver.
Logging in for the first time
After a Blink Driver account has been added they'll receive two emails:
- A Welcome to Blink email - we send this to ensure you've been added to the right team.
- An account verification email - this includes your machine generated password - follow the steps to download Blink Driver to your Android or iOS device, and use this password to log into the app.
Runs overview
After you are allocated a run, you'll see the following notification in Blink Driver.
Here you can view a summary of your run information, and acknowledge you've seen your run. You'll need to do this to collect your first vehicle.
Collecting and Delivering
After you've acknowledged your run, you can click through to your run locations seen below:
Here you can see a summary of your run locations. Select the Nav button to track your route using whatever third party navigation app your device has installed.
To collect your first vehicle:
- Select the I've Arrived button after reaching your collection location
- Select the right arrow to view your Location Information. Here you can click through to capture and edit more information about your vehicle, you can agree to the vehicle condition agreement and choose to capture a signature from your contact at that location
- If you'd rather collect without capturing any more information, select and hold Collect.
Leaving a location
Drivers are now able to leave a location after they arrive.
By selecting leave, you're able to complete another location, or complete your original location at a later time.
Capturing additional vehicle information
If you'd like to capture additional information, including damage photos, select the vehicle row
As seen below, you can do the following:
- Add or edit vehicle details
- Capture damage photos
- Add any additional items included in the vehicle
- Add a note about your vehicle collection
To capture some damage photos:
- Select the Upload proof of condition photos dropdown
- Select Take or Upload Photo.
- Here you can either upload a previously captured photo, or take your own. After you do, tap on the photo to select your damage type
You can also zoom in and out after capturing your photo for greater precision. The image will sync back to dispatch in their original size.
Exceptions
After you arrive at your location, if you're unable to collect and deliver you're able to input a collection or delivery exception.
To do so, underneath your additional vehicle information, select the "I'm unable to collect this vehicle option". You can input a reason as seen below
Original booking locations
After the addition of multi-leg, you may be allocated a vehicle collection or delivery that doesn't include the original locations on the booking. In the example below, the driver has been allocated a vehicle travelling from their Depot to the final booking location.
To view the original collection, click through to the run location, then select the vehicle. As seen below, you can see the original collection at the top of the screen
If your vehicle didn't include the original delivery, it'll show here too.
