Dispatch and run creation

Efficiently manage dispatch and run creation in Blink by allocating jobs, unallocating, identifying legs ready for action, quick searches, tracking run events through audits, and utilising features like splitting, moving and merging.

So you've created a booking. You need to complete your jobs. What's next?

Allocating a job

  1. To allocate a job, select the checkbox next to the vehicle rowallocate
  2. To allocate it to a run, either select the allocate icon, or create a new run
  3. You're all done! Your driver will receive a notification after allocation, and they're free to start the job.

Unallocating a job

  1. To unallocate a job, expand the run location and select the more options menu for that particular vehicleunallocate

Legs ready to be actioned

We now show legs on the vehicle dispatch panel that are ready to be actioned. In other words, they're ready for a driver to collect right now.

There are two things that determine this.

If the vehicle's ready at time is either now, or in the past.

  • In this example, the vehicle has a ready at time in the past, so it has the little blue tick.

If the vehicle has a multi-leg location entered.

  • If the vehicle has been delivered at this location, the next leg is ready to be actioned. Here we have two legs, both unallocated. The first is ready to be actioned, and the second isn't as the job hasn't started yet.
  • After allocating, the second leg receives a blue tick when the delivery of the first leg is complete.

Quick search

You can search locations on your vehicle dispatch panel with a few clicks . To do so, select your address, and then select either vehicle or runs panel to populate the relevant search!

Run audits

You can track the events that take place on your runs by using the run audit functionality. To do so, select the three vertical dots on the relevant run, then select Run Audit

You can now see events that take place on that run.

Split, move and merge

When you allocate multiple vehicles with the same collection or delivery, we consolidate those vehicles on the same run location.

You're also able to split those vehicles out to their own locations, and merge them back together if you want.

Split Merge

To split your vehicles:

  1. Select your vehicle checkbox
  2. Select 'Split all'
  3. Here you can see the vehicle on a new location

To consolidate your locations:

  1. Select your vehicle checkbox
  2. Select the move icon - here you can see the vehicle is now consolidated back to the original location
